Trust
Submitted by ThistleWeb on Fri, 02/05/2010 - 14:59Trust is vital in any relationship; without it there is nothing. If you don't trust someone, you can't rely on what they are telling you, or agreeing to is what they mean or can deliver. Yet traditions mean that parents all over the world are breaking the trust of their children by blatantly deceiving them and lying to them. The fact that it's "for a good cause" does not change the fact that the bond of trust is being intentionally broken.

The Importance Of Being Nice
Submitted by ThistleWeb on Sun, 09/27/2009 - 16:32Since switching back to Linux Mint 7 XFCE I've made a point of spending time in the #linuxmint support IRC channel on irc.spotchat.org helping out other users where I can. It's a way that I can give something back to the Mint project. This is very common in the FOSS community, where people who use a project give something back in terms of their time, code, artwork, translations, forum replies etc.

Why Your Project Should Use Mibbit
Submitted by ThistleWeb on Mon, 09/21/2009 - 05:26For the last couple of days I've been spending time in the Linux Mint IRC support channel at irc.spotchat.org #linuxmint helping out where I can. I will continue to do this. It's a friendly place to be, with a lot of new users (both to Linux Mint and Linux in general) asking questions. What this did was made me appreciate (again) how much native English speakers take for granted on the internet, as most forums, irc channels, blog posts etc are in English. So how do you try to ensure that understanding English is not a barrier?
