Murdoch Meddles Again

After the news story the other day about Gordon Brown's gaff in Rochdale, it appears that the Sun newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch offered the woman in question money to say she was going to vote for David Cameron. The Sun switched allegiance to the Conservative party and David Cameron before the election. This strikes me as an incredible move, direct meddling in the campaign in favour of or against a party. How can this be allowed to happen?
Even the fact that news organisations favour one party or another is very wrong. Their job is to report the news, try to inform their readers of what's going on. It's not to try and influence the readers to favour one side or another. No matter what the story, the Sun will always find a way to spin it into an attack on Gordon Brown and the Labour party, and an endorsement of David Cameron and the Conservative Party. How the hell is this "informing the public"?
Despite the Sun's blatant attempt to meddle, she refused the blood money to endorse David Cameron, which speaks volumes for both her and David Cameron's ability to reach out and win against a despised Labour government. People clearly don't want another Labour term, but they're not convinced by the Conservatives either. She did in fact say she wouldn't be voting.
This is just one example, other organisations who claim to be "news" sources favour different parties and do the same thing for their chosen one. If the newspapers have a political agenda which they clearly have, let them start their own party and put their own candidates up. Let the public see who they trust to be more honest with them; journalists or politicians.
It's as bad as the Spin Alley sections of the halls where the Leaders debates took place, where an army of MPs and news people all gathered to tell the viewers and listeners what their conclusion and opinion is, instead of letting the voters make up their own minds. "You spent 90 minutes listening to three leaders evade questions, now we'll tell you what your conclusion was." It's yet another example of how the voting public are treated with contempt.
